Living with Joy & Purpose – Dr. Paula Fellingham

Paula Fellingham here!

Last week I took my dear, fragile 92-year-old mother to the “viewing” of Clarence Allred, one of her deceased friends. When I pushed my mother’s wheelchair up close to the casket, she called out loudly, “I’ll see you soon, Clarence!”

Several of the people in the room turned and smiled. In my heart I was laughing as I returned their smiles and wheeled her away.

My friends, our time on earth is brief and precious. I urge you to find your passion – learn how to monetize it – and share it with the largest number of people on the planet. Here’s a quote by George Bernard Shaw that beautifully expresses my feelings about this. He said,

“This is the true JOY in life… being used for a purpose, recognized by yourself, as a mighty one. Being a true Force of Nature instead of a feverish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy! I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work, the more I live! I rejoice in life – for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it’s a sort of splendid torch, which I’ve got to hold up for the moment. And I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

Let us choose to live joyful lives and cherish each day.
